Athens Population History

When tasked with creating an infographic for the city of Athens, OH — the goal was to make it relatable and visually interesting. By focusing on the population of the town, it was something that sought to be tangible. Over the span of about 200 years, the population of Athens is shown here in comparison to the diameter of everyday objects. It may be hard to distinguish 578 people vs 24,024; but it’s much easier to think of it as a ping pong ball vs a wall clock.
